For the first couple months, it worked great. The cap is hard to get on yes, but the real problem is the cap doesn't say on. And when the cap doesn't stay on, the pod doesn't drop when you open the handle. The reason for this first amazon review is to balance the negative reviews fo this product, which I think are not fair. I purchased this pod 2 years go and so far have purchased about 5 lid replacements. I use it everyday at least 5 times a day. Heavy use. Yes, it is tricky the first few times around to find the right way to snap the lid, but once you understand it, it works quickly and it is reliable. As far as the lids getting broken up after use, yes it does happen. And this is is normal due to the materials used. If you have ever used a moka pot, then you know that you need to replace the gaskets. This is the same for the Mister Barista lids. Yes, they are more expensive than your typical moka gasket, and yes they might break down faster than the moka gaskets. But it is inevitable that they will break, so if you can't live up to that, then look for a comparable product with aluminum foil lids. I have purchased and tried at least 6 different kind of pods/lids on offer here on amazon. I settled on Mister Barista pods/lids. I get the quality espresso I want from it (using Lavazza Oro Quality). If you want something easier to use and less hassle over all, then use Nespresso pods, period. Any alternative to the original pods is FAR FROM PERFECT. You need to compromise if you want more control over your coffee.
