They feel they have been slighted by Steve or Marshall (at Audio Fidelity) in some way on the Forum so they take it out by bashing AF's discs. They are wannbe engineers and so they are mad when they can't get noticed by REAL ones.It's pretty pathetic when all you can do is complain and never enjoy the small things in life.==== PLEASE NOTE THIS ABOUT HDCD:Buy the disc ONLY if you have an HDCD compatible player AND receiver, otherwise you WILL NOT hear the quality.Your disc player MUST at least output 24bit/48kHz audio. Just because a player plays the disc means nothing. Most players convert ALL CDs to 16bit/44.1kHz for output. It is the standard circuitry of CD players. So... that is what your HDCD will play as, a regular CD. A regular digitally remastered CD would be better for you to buy.AND.... EVEN IF YOU HAVE A PLAYER THAT PLAYS HDCD your receiver (or pre-amp) MUST have the ability to pass that HD audio signal through to the outputs and NOT first convert it to 16bit/44.1kHz standard resolution as most receivers and pre-amps do due to an internal digital converter.You need a receiver or pre-amp that High Definition compatible and will pass the 24bit/48kHz (at least) audio signal through to the output. ONLY then will you hear the disc as it is meant to sound like.ALL of my Audio Fidelity discs sound wonderful. Rich, transparent, deep, and full. I know that all of the bad comments are from bitterness and/or anger at Steve Hoffman, Or Marshall and are retaliatory in nature... because not ONE of the discs sounds bad.And I am one VERY picky audiophile with a massive collection .Rafael says that he is a huge fan of Mobile Fidelity editions. You probably have to like jazz fusion to fully appreciate its charms. It contains many beautiful instrumental tracks that are melodic and accessible. The band had been listening to the music of Miles Davis and John Coltrane. Santana's drummer, Mike Shrieve, claimed that he and Carlos Santana had grown tired of "rock and roll" and wanted to experiment with jazz. Unlike some jazz fusion groups, the band is tight and the solos fit the music perfectly. There is no self-indulgent jazz noodling on this album.The guitar playing from both Carlos Santana and Neal Schon is lyrical and beautiful. This is a great guitar album. All but three of the ten tracks are instrumentals. There are three keyboardists: Gregg Rolie, Tom Coster, and Wendy Haas (formerly of Fanny). Two bass players: Tom Rutley and Doug Rauch. The Latin rhythm section is amazing: Jose Chepito Areas; James Mingo Lewis, and Mike Shrieve on drums. This really was a band of master musicians. This was probably one of the most musically accomplished rock bands in history.The album was a group effort. Rolie, Shrieve, Santana, Schon, Lewis, Rutley, Rauch, and Areas were all involved in composing the music. Carlos and Mike Shrieve are credited as producers. It would be the last album to feature Neal Schon and Gregg Rolie who subsequently left the band to form Journey. Both wanted to be in a rock band. This was the first album for Coster and Rauch who had a jazz fusion background.The original vinyl cover was a classic and captured the mood of the music. Most rock critics have tended to view Abraxas as the group's best album. There are no hit singles on Caravanserai and a friend of mine who liked Abraxas found the music too complex. I agree with Mike Shrieve that Caravanserai was Santana's best record, but I love jazz. I bought this record in 1973 and it has always been one of my favorite albums.
