This little device fixed my problem.Background:I purchased an Optoma HD141x LCD projector, which I ceiling mounted in my basement home theatre. In order to connect it to my Denon AV receiver (sitting under screen in front of room), I needed approximately 22' of run to connect. I ordered a highly rated 25' cable after doing some homework on maximum run length. Once connected, everything worked great for TV 720p @ 60Hz and for Blu-ray1080p @ 24Hz. The problem arose once my Blu-ray played DVD or other services like Amazon video or Netflix which switched to native 1080p @ 60Hz.. the screen jumped with horrible white flickering and noise. It was un-watchable. I checked over every setting from the projector and even updated firmware on the Denon. Out of the blue I came across the cable length discussion and decided to test by moving the Blu-ray player to the back of the room and connect a short HDMI cable to the projector.. voila!Installing this little device is a dream. I connected two 12' cables with this repeater in between. It now sits mounted above the ceiling tiles, and gets its power directly from the HDMI cable - no external power source needed. And, I left the adjustable gain set to default "0" setting - works right out of the box. It's also sturdy and well built. Highly recommended! ### ⭐⭐⭐ It didn't work, but not fully tested. *by K***I on Reviewed in the United States on February 16, 2018* It didn't work for me. Problem: Every so often (like every 10 to 15 minutes) there's a glitch and the projector losses connection. Solution: Thought this device would increase the signal avoiding the loss of connection (which lasted for like a second). Setup: Comcast box HDMI out (like three foot cable) to the extender, then a 25 foot HDMI cable to the projector.I did hook up the extender with power ac. The light turns on, and then another light turns on when I have the cables connected. I assume when the 2nd light turns on it means the extender identifies and verifies there's a signal running through. Outcome: No signal was connected to the projector at all! I disconnect the extender and just ran the HDMI cable, sure enough the signal works, but it works with the glitch.Why didn't the extender work? Why was there no signal? Theory: My projector has a VGA input and I use a HDMI converter to VGA. I'm thinking, perhaps the extender changes the signal to a point where the HDMI converter doesn't recognize the signal... is that even possible?The reason I gave it three stars is because I've yet to test it without the HDMI converter, so I didn't want t knock it out until I've tested it without the converter. Then I added a TV so I had ... *by S***. on Reviewed in the United States on November 16, 2015* I have a projector that is fed by a 40 HDMI cable that plugs into my home theater receiver. It always worked fine. Then I added a TV so I had to get an HDMI splitter to send the signal to the TV and the projector. I tried different splitters and switches and the projector would not work with any of them, only when it was plugged directly into the receiver. I first tried this device right after the splitter which is right behind the receiver, it did not work. The instructions say to put it at the end of the hdmi run, so at the projector. This goes against what I have been taught in AV distribution amplification. At the end of the cable the signal is a degraded signal and you never want to amplify a degraded signal, rather you want to use more power to push it from the start. Maybe that was with old analog stuff because when I put this at the back of the projector, it worked perfectly with the gain set at 1. The image looks perfect. It did not come with an AC power supply even though it has an input for one. It gets power from the HDMI cable. Maybe for longer runs, an AC power supply would be needed but it wasn't on my 40' cable.
