## Description

Product Description

Review: Excellent product, but takes time! - I am a big fan of this stuff! I have a ford fiesta ST from 2007, back from when cars had much less stock sound deadening. The doors and general frame of the car is basically just sheet steel and the noise when driving long distances is pretty noticeable at around 60mph, meaning you have to raise your voice to talk which detracts from the driving experience and makes handsfree calls a bit more difficult. I hadn't really ever thought about the sounds you get in the car, but I began to notice that when driving other peoples newer cars, that their cars where much more quiet and peaceful, with better sound quality. SO I thought I'd try this stuff, and I must say that when it's properly installed the difference is NIGHT and DAY. The road rumble is down to a minimum and now I can have a peaceful conversation doing 70mph -or higher ;)- on the M25 where there is the concrete paving rather than the quieter tarmac. It is lush getting into your air conditioned car after a busy day at work and having some peace and quiet. You still get the nicer notes from the engine when accelerating but skip out all of that less sexy low rev rumble. The product itself Is fairly easy to use. I recommend using the summer heat to help with the installation as you'll get much better general adhesion when laying it on hot metal. Clean and then dry the metal before hand with a good degreaser (I used autoglym's engine cleaner with good effect). I used a roller which I bought separately to help, which is good for most of the metal, but I did have to use smaller plastic interments / just my fingers to rub it down on the narrower bits where the roller wouldn't fit. The more smushed it is, the better the effect will be. The downside is, and this is entirely dependent on your car, and not the product: It can be bloody difficult to get access to bare metal. In my car - which is a 3 door - the rear passenger compartment trim is fairly easy to remove, but christ, the doors themselves are a nightmare. A lot of cars door's are now designed in such a way that you have the metal, an inner plastic door 'card' which holds all of the components on it (windows, speakers, switches etc), which then has the internal trim clipped onto it. Removing the outer trim is usually pretty easy in my experience, but dissembling the internal door card can be a nightmare - the plastic parts on my car are flimsy and snap easily, meaning I had to replace some of them before I could reassemble the door properly. Be very sure to not cover the holes in the door metal where the locking mechanism pokes through (or around the holes), as it will make reassembling the handles much more difficult (trust me). I personally opted to use a double layer of this stuff. I tried a single layer first but I wanted more. It has added a reasonable amount of weight - probably 20-30kg in total, but considering the impact it has had on the driving experience, (esp when paired with a nice sound system), it has given my car a new lease of life and I would say is worth the very small dent in performance and mpg (I mean the car itself weights ~1400kg so this is probably only adding another 2-3%). The low mids and bass of my sound system are much more noticeable now. I havent opted to do the floor yet as I have sneaked a peak under the carpet and that seems to be where the stock sound deadening on the car is focused already, and It is a pretty big job trying to get the carpet up as you have to remove seats / undo a lot of bolts / remove a lot of trim. I am happy at the moment though. I recommend buying the bigger packs as they are better value. Probably took about 60 sqm to do both doors, the rear passenger compartment, and under the boot carpet with a double layer each. It's an investment, but for me it has improved my 40 min high-speed drive to work and introduces more tranquility into my day. Set aside plenty of time to do it, and enjoy the process. I used the silver ones, and you could just see it when the window was down so I covered the visible bit with a thin layer of black masking tape to hide it a bit better. In summary: It's not gonna make your car a rolls royce, but it is a bloody good upgrade to make.
Review: This is a quality product - I bought Noico black and silver sound deadening mat and this review is the same for either colour. The accompanying instructions are useful regarding the preparation for and the application of the mats. While I appreciate the health and safety instructions cover a range of people they are of the Doom and Gloom category with dire warnings. The advice of using gloves is a hinderance, it’s is easier to detach fingers from the adhesive than gloves. The adhesive side of the mat is like a super sticky Blu Tack and is easily removed and as for the aluminium being dangerous resulting in cuts I don’t know how you could end up cutting yourself. You do need to invest in a good quality roller, a 30mm is a good size to get into most places and a well rounded and smooth piece of wood/plastic is useful to roll out the inaccessible areas. The mats are excellent quality and just from the weight alone they should do a great job. They are easy to install and rolling them out is harder. Be careful when sticking them, make sure they are positioned correctly before pressing hard on them as once they stick that’s it. I have used them on a 40 year old car which had rudimentary insulation/sound deadening installed when made so I’m sure they will do what they claim - as other reviews claim.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Where is this manufactured ?**
A: This is a Russian company, products are manufacturered in Russia as stated by Noico on their Facebook page. StP Atlantic LLC have also stated in other Amazon Q&A's that Noico is made in Russia.

Beware of Russian companies disguised behind US locations.

**Q: Is it 10sqft by lenth Or width and lenth ??**
A: 10 sqft (0.95 sqm) is the total coverage of 1 box of Noico 80 mil (2 mm) 10 sqft (0.95 sqm).
1 box includes 10 sheets of sound deadening material.
The nominal of 1 sheet is 14,5x10 inch (250 x 380 mm).

**Q: Can this be painted over and can you screw into it? I'm wanting to use this to go behind my dartboard**
A: Unfortunately, we do not recommend applying any paint over Noico 80 mil material for number of reasons:
- Paint will become hard when cured and might just peel off;
- It's hard to say whether the paint will adhere to Noico 80 mil at all and stay there;
Please also note that the material Noico 80 mil is for automotive application only and shouldn't be used for any application other that an automotive one.

**Q: Is this fire resistant. can this be used/stuck to the internal side of a bbq to stop the rattle of grates in travel**
A: Pretty sure you would end up with a melted pile of black goop in the bottom.of your BBQ.
