One prime example is one element of the diagram is emphasis on "what you can be paid for" while in this book author clearly stated that you do what gives you ikigai even if you are not getting paid (like passion, right?). I felt the concept of ikigai explained in this book is...less pressure, lower bar. In my opinion, that is a wonderful thing. + Giving new understanding After reading this book, I find that sometimes the word of "passion" is not enough. A while ago, I watched a video about a Japanese sushi chef in YouTube. Commenters said that passion allows the chef to work long hours. Before, I'll agree with them. Now, I say it's ikigai. + Short read + Subjective opinion: relaxing I've read a lot of self help books and this is one of the most relaxing (besides "The Little Book of Hygge") and meditative most of the time. I recommend reading this in the morning, with a cup of tea/coffee (optional). - Subjective opinion: weak ending I mentioned above that the book is relaxing, however the last chapters didn't give the same feeling.
