There's a very powerful spring that is compressed and held into place when the lock is engaged and released by the electro magnet when triggered with 12v. Disengaging the lock is very satisfying and it makes a cool metallic ping noise. Haven't used the extra wires yet for logic feedback as I only triggered it manually with a battery but, should be easy to implement triggering with a logic chip and a 555 timer in one shot mode hooked up to a button and a power transistor on the output pin to trigger the electromagnet with 12v. Is this so two or more can be connected together?** A: The red/black pare is the 12 volt dc connection and th green/white pare is switch that changes state when the shackle is in or out. **Q: Anyone have simple wiring diagram? I get black is neg, and red pos, but I have 2 pigtails red/blk, what pigtail does what?** A: One pair activates the coil to open the lock. The other pair is for a switch to monitor the condition of the lock: open or closed.
