    Great Practice for Young Readers

We have bought many copies of this early-reader Bible at this point. It makes a great gift! Our daughter enjoys reading it every day, putting her initials at the bottom of each reading that she completes. Her little sister is excited about it one day being her turn to read it. The readings are well paraphrased for young readers, while also being challenging and full of the wisdom and truth that you would hope for even in a kids version of the Bible. What a great way to instill good Scripture reading habits and general biblical knowledge in our children that it might benefit them their whole lives! We’d highly recommend the Day by Day for slightly older kids as well.

This bible is exactly what I was looking for--something more intense/in-depth than a toddler bible, but still accurate to the heart of the scriptures and at a level my six-year year can mostly read independently.  Stories are short enough to minimize reading fatigue for a new reader, but has SO MANY STORIES in there that you don't find in a standard kid's bible.  Highly recommend, especially for K-2 readers.

    Confusing for small children but they still love it

The stories are written in poem form and don’t make much sense. Some are harder than others. The illustrations are beautiful and my kids love to look at the pictures.I was hoping this would make the Bible easier for a 4 and 2 year old to understand but without more context some stories don’t make sense at all. We end up having a longer than normal Bible study on those days because of the questions they come up with.The author says it’s word for word of the Bible which may be true but each sentence comes from a different book and verse than the one before. I do think that is great so the kids can see how each book relates to another and how all the books back each other up, but they are still very confused when we read one chapter and it says nothing like their story says.Overall it’s an ok book. They love it which is all the matters.
