## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ VERY pleased!
*by C***I on November 3, 2016*

This Oster toaster/convection oven replaced my 11-year-old Euro Pro X, and I'm very happy with it! It toasts my English muffins and bagels just the way I like them, and I'm glad to be able to bake foods without the greater heat that my stove adds to the kitchen. I like the way the controls are set up, easy and uncomplicated. Reheating leftovers is also much better in a convection oven than in the microwave! The directions which come with this unit are simple and straightforward. A 12-inch pizza will fit fine inside, and a 9x13 pan will fit as long as it does not have handles. (If you're using a glass casserole dish with handles, the largest size you'll be able to use in the Oster is an 8x11.) I am attaching photos: 9x13 pan with unit door open and door closed, 12-inch pizza pan with door open and door closed, and broiler pan with the unit door open. I haven't had it long enough for anything to go wrong, and thus far it seems like a steal at $65. Yes, I can definitely recommend this one!UPDATE 12-27-16: I've now had my Oster toaster/convection oven for about two months, and it has virtually replaced my full sized oven. As a senior lady who lives alone, it's ideal, the perfect size, and I don't have to bend over to take pans out of the oven! :) I will say, for whatever reason, my Otter heats on the high side, faster than I'd see in my big oven. A frozen pizza, for example, which should take 15 minutes at a 400 degree setting, will be fully cooked in my Oster in 9-10 minutes on a 350 setting; higher/longer and it would burn. I admit I'd like it better if the time(s) were more on target with recipe instructions, but I've had to adjust temp/time and it's OK for me. I still love this thing!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Eureka! I finally found one that works like it should!
*by C***T on May 7, 2011*

I've been on a quest since last November to find a convection toaster oven that works like it should. So far I've tried four others and none of them worked like they should. I've gone through 2 Black & Decker ovens, a GE, and the last one was a Hamilton Beach. Now this one works like its supposed to. It's easy to set the cooking time and temperature on it. The presets for CONVECTION BAKE and BAKE is 350 degrees and 30 minutes. It has a preset for PIZZA that is 400 degrees for 20 minutes. A DEFROST setting is for 150 degrees for 30 minutes. It also has a preset for WARM 30 minutes but the book doesn't say what the preset temp is for that and it doesn't show in the display. After testing it I found that it gets too and holds at 175 degrees. The best aspect with this thing is that it actually gets to, and holds within ten degrees, the temperature that its set for! This is the only one out of the five that I have tried that will get to the temperature that its set for, and hold it within 100 degrees of that setting. Most of the ones that I've tried were off from 100 to 150 degrees, or more, of what they are set for. When using the convection setting it is nice and quiet. The Hamilton Beach that I tried last, the fan was so loud I could hear it running in the other room. This one is so quiet that I can barely hear it running while standing right in front of it. The other thing that I really like with this one is the inside light. It comes on automatically when you press the start button and it shuts off when the timer runs out. You can also turn it on and off with its own button. Its plenty bright enough to see how done what ever is cooking in it is and is something that the other toaster ovens should have. The ovens door closes tight and seems to seal pretty good and the rack inside fits tight enough in its groove that it can be pulled out a few inches without tilting down making it easier to take out what ever your cooking. There's only a couple of things that I don't particularly care for. One is that the power cord sticks out of the bottom of the oven instead of the back or side. Its no big deal but it makes it a bit awkward keeping it out of the way when moving the oven. The other thing is the crumb tray fell out of it first time I went to set it on the counter and landed edge wise on my bare foot. Again, no big deal really, but it sure did hurt! Over all, I do believe that this one is a keeper! At least till Oster makes one with a rotisserie in it. I thought I had added that a 9"x13" cake pan, without handles, just fits inside. I uploaded pictures showing one inside of my oven. The actual size is 9 5/8" x 13 5/8", the 9"x13" is the inside. I also have a nice 2 1/2qt casserole deep dish with lid that just fits nice in it too. The other thing I forgot to add is that it heats up pretty quick too. Some of the others that I had would take 10 or 15 minutes to get up to 350 to 375 degrees. This one takes about 5 to 6 minutes to get up to 375 and a couple more to make 400. It takes about 8 to 10 minutes to heat up and lightly toast a pan of Honey Buns. At 350 they will be hot and a little soft, at 400 they will start getting a little crunchy on the edges and the frosting turning to caramel. Some of the smaller toaster ovens will toast faster and the bigger ones take a lot longer of course. Any who, I'm very happy with this one, it all depends on how long it will last.Update 10-27-13This is for those of you who are worried about what CDL said in his review about it being an electrical hazard. First of all it has a polarized plug. That means it has a plug with one prong wider than the other one. This is so that it can only be plugged into the wall outlet one way. Having a Polarized plug is how they keep the electricity going into the appliance where its' supposed to go and keeps you from getting shocked while touching and using it. With a Polarized plug on it there is no need for a separate ground wire to it. To get shocked by this toaster oven you would have to take the cover off of it, get soaking wet and stand in a puddle and just to make sure have one hand on the kitchen faucet then grab the wires inside the case. Even then you would have to make contact with a bare section of the hot wire coming into the oven. If you did all that then you might get shocked. In other words, if you use this toaster oven in the manner that it was designed to be used it is impossible to be shocked by it. Of all the toaster ovens that I've tried out, checked out, and used I have seen only one with a grounded plugin on it. It was one of the smaller Black & Decker toaster ovens. Even though it has a grounded plug on it, the outside of it does get more than hot enough to burn you with just casual contact. As for it being a burn hazard or fire hazard that is ridiculous too. True, it does have a single wall on the back of it. But so does almost all toaster ovens. Only the most expensive ones have a double walled back on them. Look at the ones on the shelves at Walmart or Sears or any department store the next time you're there. This one has two long pegs on the back to keep it a safe distance from the wall behind it. The only way it could be a fire hazard is if you stacked a bunch of papers on top of it and had some fall down behind it then used it at 450 degrees. Then you might get a fire from it. Any of you that have read the book Fahrenheit 451 knows that 451 degrees Fahrenheit is the temperature at which paper starts to burn. That's why its the title to a book about a society that has banned books and "Firemen" are the guys that go around collecting the books and burning them.As for getting burned by touching it, the top and both ends are double walled to prevent burns. They do get warm enough to be a little uncomfortably warm if you place your hand on them. And if you really want to try to get burned you could leave your hand on the top or ends but I doubt it would burn you. As for the glass door in the front. Yes, that gets plenty hot enough to burn you if you are dumb enough to touch it while the oven is hot. However, the handle stays close to normal room temperature and is perfectly safe to use when the oven is hot. But remember, it is an OVEN and IT IS SUPPOSED TO GET HOT. This particular counter-top oven is one of the safest ones I've seen or used.I don't know what CDL has against this toaster oven or why he has gone to such length to make it sound like it was designed to kill you and burn down your house to hide it. I've had mine for two and a half years and use it almost everyday. It has almost completely replaced my microwave and the only thing I use my microwave for now is to re-heat a cup of coffee and to thaw out frozen foods enough to use this toaster convection oven to cook it with. It has all the same safety features that are required by law and is just as safe to use as any of its competitors are, and probably safer than a lot of them. Like the little Black & Decker I have that will burn you if you touch the outside anywhere while it is in use. The only problem that I've had with my Oster oven is the clock has started running a little fast. After setting it, a week later it will be about half an hour fast. But since I have 6 different clocks in easy view in my living room and kitchen this is no big problem. CDL may have 25+ years as an electrical engineer. But I have 25+ years as a machinist and working in manufacturing. And you wouldn't believe some of the things the engineer's in the front offices would design and then send out to manufacturing to figure out how to make the goofy thing. Us people in the manufacturing part have always said that those engineers need to spend at least a year in the shop side seeing how things are actually made before they get to sit in that front office and dream up stuff that just cant be made.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great countertop convection.
