Unfortunately, I decided to size up based on a lot of the reviews and this did not work for me. I am assuming that if you are a smaller size, it works best to stick to the size chart.I am 5’5 and 57.8kg, waist 27 inch. I ordered a M and is a little big. It was quite easy to put on and doesn't cinch. I should have followed the guidelines and gone for size small perhaps. On a positive note, this is so comfortable, I can sleep in it and wear it all day. So size up if you want a very comfortable, shirt like fit. I've never seen or had a waist trainer with hooks on the left side. I returned the garment and exchanged it for an XXL. The first two times I had to have my husband put it on me but the 3rd time I was able to put it on by myself! When I tell u that this is the BEST garment I have EVER purchased! I love love love the way it is very long and does not bend, ride up or fold! I will be purchasing a size down very soon! My posture is so much better and my boobs sit straight up at attention!
