The trick to getting a good installation is to use the other in-place good cord as a pattern for how to insert the new one. You will need to keep the tension fairly tight as you thread the new cord through the holes otherwise you will run out of cord before the end of the job and will then have to shuffle the tension all the way down to balance it evenly. It's a little tiring on the fingers but it's an easy job provided that you follow the pattern of the other cord as you progress. The cord ends are fitted with a small foldable tee bar which lies flat when threading but folds out when the threading is completed to stop the cord from falling back through the holes when under tension. Simple but effective. I can't say I felt any difference in the chair once it was repaired, but it's very pleasing to give what was a rather expensive broken chair a new lease of life with a very cheap fix. I did find that these cords were long enough to go down one way and back up, making the spring stronger than before. **Q: Does four strings just do the one chair?** A: I did TWO chairs with a pack of 4 elastic cords. I recommend doing 1 side at a time on each chair so you can match the original pattern!! Very easy to do and saved a fortune. **Q: Where can I find instructions** A: You do not get instructions, just try to remember how the cords you are replacing are threaded on the recliner. The longer one is for the seat and leg area, the shorter for the back. I start at one end with the toggle at the back of the canvas and weave in and out as required. **Q: Will this fit chair with 21 eyelets on long seat section?** A: I used them on a sunlounger with 21 eyelets and it was good, in the packet was 4 pieces 2 shorter ones for the back and 2 for the longer seat.
