And some brewers sugar. Got hit with a heatwave 35°c mid fermentation, so not ideal conditions. Still made a lovely sparkling ale, reminiscent of Belgian abbey stuff. Review: Make sure you get 1.5kilo of light dry malt! - Currently in the process of brewing this kit and you dont realise until it arrives that you need to add dry malt, Instead of saying on the instructions you need 1.5kg of light malt it just says 3 sachets (500g) which i thought was quite misleading. So im brewing this with less unfortunatly so the ABV will be lower. Have added 500g of dextose a few days in when i had realised. It does pay to watch a few videos online first. However an enjoyable process and i look forward to tasting the finish product.. update 16th Jan. Ale turned out very nice. A clear colour and turned out fairly strong with a great taste. I thought everything would be included in the pack I received but apparently not.** A: In addition to this tin of malt extract (which includes a sachet of yeast), you would need either 1kg of sugar (dextrose powder or normal granulated sugar), or 1kg of malt extract.You'll also need appropriate equipment: A fermentation container (with lid), ideally a thermometer, hydrometer, a siphon (for drawing off the finished beer), and importantly some steriliser to clean the equipment before use. You can then choose to bottle or barrel the beer once the fermentation is finished. **Q: how long from start to drinking** A: Normally about 4 weeks, dependent on the storage conditions. From my own experience the beer is at a good drinkable state after circa 3 weeks and it improves up to 6 weeks. I do not know how long it lasts in the bottle/barrel as I never have any left after 6 weeks **Q: What temperature do you ferment at? Please do not answer - it says on the instructions** A: The fermentation temperature is the same as the temperature you add the yeast, and it's stated on the instructions. If in doubt, visit the Coopers website for instructions. **Q: Can I just use normal sugar instead of a second can of malt the instructions say I need to purchase?** A: Hi Yes you can use 1Kg of normal sugar rather than beer kit enhancer ot the dried spraymalt that the instructions talk about.
