It should have magnesium in the concoction but if your coral need more, you can add more. I would be careful though. **Q: how much and how often should I use in a 32 gallon SPS dominant tank it's filled halfway we're almost halfway with live rock and I do weekly water ch** A: I can't really say for sure ........ myself, I have a 60 gallon cube and I put a teaspoon of each in my tank twice a week. I think the important thing is to make sure it is equal amounts and just watch your stuff. You will want to monitor you tank for Calcium and Magnesium to keep those levels in check. You being SPS, might want to dose a bit more. **Q: Do still need to buy Magnesium?** A: You need to perform a test for magnesium to see if you need more then what is in this product. I do not add extra for my 32g reef. **Q: Do I need to turn off my carbon when I use this product?** A: No. This is a calcium and alkalinity supplement.
