Review: Lovely empowering books. - At last a "minority" character in a secular setting. Lovely text and illustrations. The stories are simple with a climax ... I like the Pakistani terms here and there . They are few enough to not obstruct the flow of the story, but nice to show my kids that there are different cultures/ways/languages to say things. I bought the whole collection. Both my 5 twins, boy and girl, loved them.
Review: A delightful followup - Saadia Faruqi is one of my and my 6-year-old daughter's favorite authors! This is a delightful followup to MEET YASMIN. My daughter especially loved the craft suggestion in the back, and within an hour of getting this book for her birthday she'd already made a superhero puppet. We can't wait for more Yasmin in the future!

At last a "minority" character in a secular setting. Lovely text and illustrations. The stories are simple with a climax ... I like the Pakistani terms here and there . They are few enough to not obstruct the flow of the story, but nice to show my kids that there are different cultures/ways/languages to say things. I bought the whole collection. Both my 5 twins, boy and girl, loved them.
