I installed this per instructions. It's deterrent factor is dubious at best. It comes with some pretty lousy NiMH 800mah rechargeable batteries, which I replaced with 2000mah AA cells. I think it would be more effective against stray dogs/cats, as they seem to be bothered by the sonic deterrent (high frequency audio). The flashing LED only gives raccoons & possums a reason to try their best 'Disco moves' on your lawn. Get a 'trail cam' to find out what time the varmints are intruding.
