I decided to spend a little more to get a watch I knew would be reliable. It's perfect. She can use the alarm and many of the features herself. The strap is easy to remove and wash. She is a rough and tumble little girl and wears the watch constantly. I understand the watch is for a child and children, one can't really blame the kid for running in the sprinklers on an impulse.
