They over extend causing weakness. My ankles are weak and lean inward causing me to trip and fall...a lot. Last year I broke my leg because of this. After I healed, I came across these and tried them. They really helped to straightened my ankles to make me more steady. It also helps to straightened out my hips and that relieves my symptoms of pinch sciatica. I can stay on my feet longer more safely. I like them better than full orthotics because they are small and don't require that I go up a full shoe size. I can wear my true size.
