I never realized how very important that my Grandparents were in my life until I started this workbook. It has helped me tremendously as I started my spiritual journey two years ago. This was one of the first books I read, and it was the best thing I have ever done for myself. If you would like to start a healing process, then start with this book. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Changed My Life *by M***T on Reviewed in the United States on September 21, 2016* I was introduced to Chakras in a yoga class over a year ago. The book used for the class took a more analytical and academic approach (Eastern Body, Western Mind), a good book, but not one that spoke to me. I was looking for something that spoke more to my heart and would encourage me and guide me through some deep work. On the surface, the idea of using fables to heal a lifetime of internal negative dialogue within oneself seems almost silly and childlike. But in so many ways, the fables served to disarm me and as I let my guard down each week and read each little one, I would be hit by emotions and thoughts I had never considered as things holding me back. The questions you are asked to explore each week seem too simple at first, but if you take the time to really focus on the things you have pushed into the back of your mind, once the dams break there is no going back.What I loved most is that it guides you through the whole year, week by week, and only requires a few minutes of your time each day. The work on the first chakra takes you through digging into your foundation- how you learned to behave and think through the behaviors of your parents and grandparents. Just the work on that chakra was eye opening and led me to start the process of letting go of negative behaviors and thoughts. There were some weeks I would spend a couple of weeks on because so much was coming through and I needed the extra time to work on it. And that's the beauty of the self guided pace. If you need more time or a break, you take it and it's there for you. I am on the last two weeks of the toolkit and I can say that I have changed so much in how I think about myself and the world around me. I have learned to take off the mask and be my true self. This work has changed my relationships with my husband, family and friends and I feel encouraged to find ways to be more honest, loving, open, empathetic, while also being clear about what I need and want for myself and to stick up for myself.Like anything else you do in the self help arena, you truly do get out of it what you put in, it is not magic. The questions and meditations each week truly get to the heart of the matter each week and you have to be willing to be completely honest and open with yourself. Hard truths and painful memories may come up and you have to be brave enough to face them head on and push through. Spend time with the journalling and just write whatever comes to mind. Explore the thoughts and images that come to you during the meditation days. I am already looking forward to going through the toolkit again next year and do even deeper work. The only downside I can think of is that I have not been able to find a group online or in person to work with, especially since the book caters to situations where you may be doing the work within a group setting.
