A: That is 1 and 3/4 inch.

**Q: Are them dishwasher safe?**
A: ABSOLUTELY NOT! You shouldn't ever wash your knives in the dishwasher. The soap is VERY caustic and will eat away the blade edge ruining the knife. I just wash mine with mild dish soap, rinse thoroughly and then dry and put into my knife holder.

A: We use an Accusharp Knife sharpener and it works great.
