I installed remote started professionally back in the day when they first came around you had to connect every wire and had to take most of the interior apart, had to cut open factory harnesses and run wires through the firewall it was a pain and took hours. This product streamlines all that with their T harness and smart EVO-ALL I recommend. Review: Works very well, install documentation could be clearer. - Install was not too bad. The instructions weren’t the clearest so I missed a wire hookup. Once I got that I went to use their decryption and it wouldn’t decrypt the first time. I had to run the decryption process a few times before it completed successfully. Finally after that I still couldn’t get the car to remote start with the factory key fob and discovered that I need to change a setting in the flash link updater to get the remote start working. The 3X lock press is not enabled by default so when I flashed the Evo for the car it took me some time to figure out I needed to enable that and reflash. Finally about 2 hours later it works and works well even though I could have installed it in about 20 mins with clearer instructions and a better functioning decryption software. Tech support via phone was non-existent as I called during office hours stated for Tech Support and the machine said they were closed. The EVO basically comes empty with no program. Once you get the programmer hooked up you will use the software to get the appropriate program for you Focus and install it. Hope this helps. **Q: if it does not come pre-programmed, do i need to buy the separate flash-link or is it included?** A: No you will need to buy the flash link.. its generic in programming and will need to be updated as well as having your preferred option turned on or off. You will also need it install any updates **Q: What kind of range does this have?** A: This is not a stand alone its a stand alone add on Remote so you would have to buy more parts to make it work, and it did not work on my 2009 Lincoln navigator. **Q: Will this have everything included to install on a 2011 ford escape? no additional bypass module? totally plug and play?** A: I have a 2012 and the unit does not program out of the box. Says I need to flash using their $40 add on module.
