You can set it up to work as an overdrive or just a slight boost in volume. easy to operate as well. I set mine up in line with another boost only pedal to put it into an overdrive mode instantly. I play mostly Tele's so I was looking for more mids to get that thick country twang thru my Twin or Deluxe. Nice at low volumes too while chopping wood in my music cave. draw backs? I'd prefer side inputs rather than both at the top,, it would fit my board better. This way I can use the midrange settings for different pickup types and switching guitars. It will thicken up singles, especially the high E. Lower the gain for humbuckers. Just set it and forget it on the baseline side and keep the pedal at arms reach to adjust the mids. It will brighten up a dull sound, give it a lift ( like an elevator?). I also used it as my only drive pedal for a while. It work like a charm, It finds the sweet spot no matter what volume. I'd give it five stars but the switch on mine is a little loose. Pummelling the amp hard makes for some GREAT and AWESOME TONES!!!And its subtle, and its NOT an overdrive.But DANG when you clean boost your guitar into an already overdriven amp ... it REALLY SMOKES!!You'll get a better, more wailing tone then you can with an overdrive pedal.
