I never am able to comfortably wear new shoes without a break in period or using insoles, but I have had no issues with these boots from day one. I have sensitive feet and a Morton's neuroma, so even though I'm a size 9 with regular to slim width on my feet, I have to get 91/2 wide shoes & boots. So I need to wear thick socks with these boots, but other than that they fit like a dream! The red/maroon color I got was true to how it looked in the website. Anyway they were a little snug across the top of my foot at first but by the end of the day that had loosened up. I wore them all day long with no problem. I'm a 9M and this boot has plenty of room for thin to medium thick socks. I don't have thick ankles so it's fairly loose there. They have the must-have basics of black and espresso but I am in love with the forest green and can't wait to get the plum.
