After reading the great reviews, I decided to take a chance and order it. SO happy with my decision!! First off, this salt box is a very nice size - so many other ones seemed too narrow and too shallow - definitely not ideal for a foodie/chef wanna be! This size is perfect - I use the adorable wooden spoon it came with when cooking, and a smaller spoon to place this on the table for individual use at dinner parties, etc. I get lots of compliments on it, as it looks gorgeous and much more expensive than it was!! The cover is marble white and modern looking, and the wood base is just SO beautiful - love that mine is two-tone, but I'm sure they're all different. The wood comes pretty dry but not an issue since I applied natural beeswax polish and buffed it, just like I do with all my other wood bowls and cheese trays. The first one I bought is for himalayan pink salt which we use everyday, and I am purchasing two more for kosher salt and maldon sea salt. They are so pretty I plan to place all three on display on my kitchen counter.
