I've wanted it since I first saw it years ago, so I was thrilled to see this for sale for only $199. Given what quality dueling sabers cost elsewhere on the net, I wasn't sure what to expect from Hasbro as a manufacturer. The quality of the hilt is very nice, and the pictures on it's page are an accurate representation there. The hilt IS metal and fairly thick. The finish is definitely nicer than any of the Galaxy's Edge sabers also. I can't tell how well the electrum finish is done, so I'm not sure if it would wear with extended use. It SEEMS good quality though. Parts of the hilt have nicely done rubberized vinyl coating. Faux leather I suppose. It's a nice touch though, and helps with maintaining grip also.Sound effects overall are good. I'd prefer a tiny bit more volume though. The only real issue here is that the saber is a bit lacking in movement detection. Soft swings might not get noticed and even light taps against something tend to just register as a swing as opposed to a hit. To me, that's a minor issue though. :)The Blade: This is where the saber needs improvement in my opinion. There are a few issues for me. First is that the blade doesn't detach from the hilt at all. So there's no way to take advantage of the covertec clip on the hilt, unless you want to drag the end of the blade on the ground while the saber is hooked to your belt clip. That limits display options also.Next is the color of the blade. The pics here seem to have photoshopped that, because previous reviews are correct; the blade is more of a magenta color.The light level is definitely very good though. It's visible in a bright room, and will illuminate our entire bathroom with the door closed and light out (no windows or skylight). Another really nice touch that you wont get from cheap toys or the heavy duty dueling sabers is that when you turn it on, the light progresses up the blade tube, giving the appearance of the blade extending like in the movies.Finally, there's the durability of the blade. This is NOT a dueling saber. The blade is strong enough for light contact only. That's just the nature of the beast, so to speak. It's sturdy enough to hold up well to light contact and reasonable playing around though. The flip side is that this is also an officially licensed collectible, so it'll hold it's value and more over time I suspect.If you're looking for a gorgeous saber for display, collecting, cosplay, or light horsing around, you should be very happy with this. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars The Force is strong with this collectable *by A***Y on Reviewed in the United States on March 22, 2020* Yeah its more Magenta then Purple and i really don’t care! I’m just happy it isn’t red as I currently have Vader, Kylo and soon Will own Dooku’s saber when it’s released in June of 2020. Vader was my first so the weight of Windu’s saber was not surprising and truthfully felt right to me. If anything Kylo’s saber was shockingly heavy (in a good way)My thoughts on the hiltI love this hilt design it looks like a shiny new sports car the gold accents the sheer shine all top notch for my expectations.The not so greatI should probably mention that my Vader saber is from Master Replicas the company that made the Force FX lightsabers before they were picked up by Hasbro and re dubbed The Black Series Force FX Lightsabers. the one glaring difference that sets apart both brands of Sabers is the sound quality! The Master Replica (Vader is the only MR saber i own so i’m not sure if their others were as sharp in their sound as Vader’s is) saber sound is exquisite! The sound is sharp and almost too loud. The Black series Mace Windu and even the Kylo Ren Sabers sound is almost a joke. They sound Is ultimately fine for what its worth and true to the source material but its dull and muffled by comparison. Not sure why Hasbro chose to go with lesser quality sound components but all in all it does not dilute the joy of owning one of these truly collectable collectables. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Finally!!! *by S***N on Reviewed in the United States on January 28, 2019* I've been collecting the Black Series lightsabers since just after the release of the Force Awakens and had been waiting for this particular saber ever since Luke's Ep VI saber was released. I love the fact that this is (as far as the movies are concerned) the only saber that is this color. It's unique and that alone made it one of my favorites (along with Kylo Ren's, Luke's Ep VI, and Darth Maul's double saber). Others have complained to varying degrees that the color is off, and though part of that may come from display calibration affecting expectations, and lighting in the area this saber is used and battery quality affecting your individual experience, I will agree that it isn't perfect, but so far none of the Black Series sabers are 100% accurate but this one is closer than some, and the color is close enough. I love it. It's scale with the others. The sound is a little lower that the others but the hilt feels higher quality with the faux leather, chrome and gold accents are nice. It may not say BMF anywhere on the saber, but this is definitely an excellent reproduction of an iconic saber and I'm happy to have it mounted in my Nerd Cave. Now just to get Darth Maul and... (yawn) Obi Wan... (rolls eyes). They should have done Qui-Gon instead. Another green saber from a character that's under-represented would have made more sense than another blue Obi Wan.
