I know some ceramics aren't.** A: I'm not sure, but I would hand wash anyway **Q: How does the salt dispense, and how does the pepper dispense? is it a even shake / pour? does it clog? etc... thank you.** A: You fill the dispenser from the bottom and the salt/pepper comes out the top. They shake out very nicely. They are so cute. I've received many compliments on how cute they are. **Q: Is it BPA and cadmium free?** A: It is ceramic, so BPA doesn't apply, BPA is only for plastics. Cadmium?
