Especially those that are multi-instrumentalists. I ended up losing my original one I had from High school so I figured I would get another. Having my flute out on a stand at home makes it more likely that I will practice more often. I would recommend cleaning your flute after playing and setting it on the stand. Also there the potential for the flute to collect dust if not in use and that could affect the mechanisms. Where this stand shines is that is ultra-portable. It easily fits in a pocket or case and it’s ready to use in seconds. Love this design. The trade off with it being so small and portable is that it isn’t the most sturdy stand I’ve seen. It won’t topple over, but if you bump into it it will wiggle around.
