I grew up with a German mother and the traditional German Christmas cookies known as Lebkuchen. Until 2 years ago, I was able to buy oblaten seasonally at a local German specialty food store. Then they closed and oblaten were nowhere to be found! Christmas is just not the same without real Lebkuchen with oblaten! I am thrilled that Amazon now carries them and the price is remarkable. I used to pay almost $6.00 for ONE box, which made for expensive cookies. With 10 boxes on hand, I no longer have to hide them since they are also great for munching on and, of course, for cookies!
