The top half is lighted with typical 25W mini floodlights, the bottom half isn't. I wanted to add some dimmable "warm white" lighting to the bottom half, and these puck lights are perfect for that job, particularly because the top-half lighting is fully recessed in the top of the cabinet, and there's a lot less vertical space for a light in the bottom half ... I needed a "low-profile" light for that location.I only needed two lights, but this set came with three, all of which are controlled simultaneously. They're powered from a little junction box with three output jacks on one side, one input jack on the other. The dimmer/on-off switch plugs into that on one side, and the AC adapter on the other. So the wiring sequence is: AC adapter to dimmer/on-off switch; switch to junction in; junction outs to lights ... all "plug and play," very easy to understand/install. The dimmer doesn't go to 0% (I think that would be a better design), but there's an on/off button right next to the dimmer, and the range of lighting is OK for my app. The on-off switch is a push-button ... I mounted both the junction box and dimmer switch in an easy-to-reach spot on the rear of my cabinet. The on/off/dimmer switch comes with a piece of two-sided foam tape on it that's pretty strong (so far). The junction doesn't come with the two-sided foam, so you either have to use two of the little screws supplied with the lights to attach it to your mounting surface, or, if the material you're screwing into is too thin for that (mine is), you'll need your own piece of two-sided foam to mount it. The kit also comes with a supply of self-adhesive wire clips (a total of 9, I think), to help keep the wires running to the lights neat/out of the way.Last note: the light from these forms a fairly tight "cone," rather than a "flood" effect. I'm craving a bit more of a "flood" dispersion in my app, so I'm probably going to cover the lens with some kind of diffuser. That's just me/my preference, however, no diss on the lights, which I think were a perfect choice for my app in all other respects. Five stars. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Not great for an even diffused light - especially at distances beyond 2' *by S***Y on Reviewed in the United States on November 9, 2019* Pro's - Decent Quality and Ease of InstallCon's - Not diffused enough. If you are installing inside a cabinet, probably fine. If you are installing 3' above a bathroom sink, it looks like a spot instead of a flood. Light is very directional, and not what I would have thought it would be with the lens design it has. Light output not as warm as you would think either.If you are illuminating anything beyond 2' and want a broad (flood) illuminating effect, spend a bit more and get the WAC Lighting HR-LED90-30-DB kit. A bit more $$, and higher quality. Most importantly, great diffusion of the light at distance. I will admit, I use them as inset lights on my garage doors, shining down the center of each door for a nice lighting effect. They clearly say they are not for outdoor use but since they are under the overhang in a drilled recessed, I'm hoping they will be ok. It's been several months and several rains and all seems to be well. West Coast, so no snow to worry about.
