Equipped with Ibanez Powersound P and J pickups and a PHAT-II EQ, it offers professional-grade sound clarity and tonal versatility. Perfect for both beginners and seasoned players seeking a high-performance bass with standout style. ## Description Patterned on their famous SR, the Ibanez GSR offers the same alternative approach to electric bass that all SR basses do. Light in weight, heavy in tone, with a fast, thin neck that you will find just a bit more comfortable than other brands—whether you’re a veteran bassist, a 6-string guitarist, or just starting out. Built to hold its own against pro level competitors, the GSR200BWNF features a solid Mahogany body with a sophisticated Walnut Flat finish that give it a luster well beyond its class. A Rosewood fingerboard, accented with medium-size pearl dot inlays round out the visuals. A sleek, comfortable, GSR4 Maple neck—widely recognized as the industry standard for playability—and rock solid Ibanez B10 bridge, rev up the specs to accommodate whatever you’re setting out to play. Factor in Ibanez Powersound P and J pickups for clarity and fullness well beyond their price point, and the PHAT-II EQ for ultra wide tonal range and you’ll see why the GSR206 ranks as one of the most-played basses of all time. Review: BUY THIS BASS? - Absolutely stunned! When I unpackaged this bass I was impressed. Beautiful white pearl finish, and a buffed smooth maple neck. The first thing I did was put it in my work table. I restrung it with my favorite string, Rotosound light gauge roundwounds. I strobe tuned it and started to play. To my surprise it played perfectly. No height adjustments on strings or pickups needed. The only adjustments I made were intonation on the E and D strings. So then I started playing with the tone. I play through a 25 watt Fender Rumble practice amp. I was set at 12:00 on my tone knobs. When I turned the bass blend knob I got a smile on my face. Suddenly I heard the richest bass tone appear, while not hearing any loss of mid or treble tone. Needless to say, I am happy with this bass guitar. I cannot believe this is a $250 beginner bass. It is perfect in every way. It is lightweight, it plays like a dream, and with my Rotosound strings, it is one of the best sounding basses I’ve ever heard. BUY ONE! Review: I can't believe a bass this cheap is good - If you told me 20+ years ago you could get an instrument this good for $250 I would have laughed at you. It's probably not the best bass on the market but as a guitar player of over 20 years, it plays fine and sounds good enough. All it needed out of the box was intonation, pickup height and adjust the action. Frets feel great and was comfortable enough to play that the only reason I stopped was my fingers started to blister. I do not like the factory strings, I have a set of super slinkies that are supposed to arrive tomorrow and it should be good to go. The quality control on this sub $300 bass is better than the $1,400 LTD I bought and returned a couple of years ago. Highly recommend for anyone that is looking for a decent bass without breaking the bank. If it's your first bass, it's going to be great. If you just need "a bass" this is a great option. ## Features - Spalted Maple top/Mahogany body - Rosewood Frets - Spalted maple top/mahogany body - Rosewood frets ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00I6DOGIK | | Back Material Type | Artist / Signature | | Best Sellers Rank | #3,399 in Musical Instruments ( See Top 100 in Musical Instruments ) #5 in Electric Bass Guitars | | Body Material Type | Mahogany | | Brand | Ibanez | | Brand Name | Ibanez | | Color | Charcoal Brown Burst | | Connector Type | 6.35mm Jack | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 2,029 Reviews | | Finish Type | Powder Coated | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00887802016398 | | Hand Orientation | Right | | Included Components | Bass Guitar | | Instrument | Electric Bass | | Instrument Size | 3.7 | | Item Dimensions | 47.79 x 18.68 x 3.78 inches | | Item Highlight | Phat II EQ with mahogany body and PJ pickups for performance, recording and practice | | Item Type Name | Bass Guitar | | Item Weight | 10.6 pounds | | Item dimensions L x W x H | 47.79 x 18.68 x 3.78 inches | | Manufacturer | Ibanez | | Manufacturer Part Number | GSR200SMCNB | | Material Type | Stainless Steel | | Model Name | GSR200SM | | Model Number | GSR200SMCNB | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Strings | 4 | | Operation Mode | Electric | | Set Name | GIO | | Size | 3.7 | | String Material Type | Nickel | | Top Material Type | Maple | | UPC | 887802016398 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Warranty Description | 1 year. | ## Product Details - **Back Material Type:** Mahogany - **Brand:** Ibanez - **Color:** Charcoal Brown Burst - **Finish Type:** Powder Coated - **Instrument:** Electric Bass - **Item Weight:** 10.6 Pounds - **Item dimensions L x W x H:** 47.79 x 18.68 x 3.79 inches - **Operation Mode:** Electric - **String Material Type:** Nickel - **Top Material Type:** Maple ## Images ![Ibanez GSR200SMCNB GIO - Spalted Maple Top Charcoal Brown Burst - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71ZJrXV3vtL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Color, Style** options. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ BUY THIS BASS? *by J***Y on March 10, 2026* Absolutely stunned!
