The gun itself works fine and heats up decently quick. The major issue I had with it compared to the others that are available is the way the gun sits. It sits with the tip pointed up and it just has a flimsy clip at the bottom of the handle to keep it from falling over. The weight of the cord kept pulling the gun over and a 1000 degree heatgun falling on things isn't good. ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars It works. . .but. . . *by J***F on Reviewed in the United States on March 18, 2019* The media could not be loaded.  Being that our old heat gun burnt out, I needed a new one. There are so many different heat guns on the market, so deciding what would serve me the best was not easy. I did a lot of reading and searching. . .Thinking that a higher wattage would work better for me (thawing out pipes and gutters), the 2000W rating of this one caught my eye. It supposedly had a 2000W capability, quick heating time, adjustable fan and a rating of five stars. . .but, at the time, from only six customers. It also was to have four nozzle attachments which I thought might come in handy some day. After reading the product page and the reviews. . .I decided to give this one go. Coincidentally, my stepfather also needed a new one, so I wound up ordering two. . . but of differing brands: this one and the Porter Cable 1500W heat gun. I got my stepfather the Porter Cable for it was more similar to what he previously had, and he didn't need any attachments.Upon receiving the Yimaler, I was not very impressed with how it was packaged. It came in a plain, unmarked cardboard box, like shoe box, but flatter. And upon opening the box, my impression sank even further: the gun and its parts were just loosely placed in the box (I attached some photos). Both were in plastic bags. . .but nothing to prevent them from jostling around and getting nicked up, which did indeed happen--not badly, but a little nick here and there on the gun. For comparison, the Porter Cable came in a nice manufacturer's box and was packaged very well. No jostling damage there.After taking the Yimaler out of the box, the first thing I noticed is that it felt very light. . .and more cheaply made. I'm sorry to say that, but that is me being honest. When compared to the Porter Cable I also ordered, the build quality is severely lacking, and that is no understatement. You can see the quality difference from the photos I attached of the two guns side by side. Even the cord on the Yimaler is quite thin, which surprised me considering it was suppose to be 2000W and of "high grade." The Porter is rated 500W less, but, yet, the cord is much, much thicker (see photo: Porter cord on left, Yimaler on the right). The more I analyzed the Yimaler, the more disappointed I became.As for the performance. . .Shortly after I inspected the heat gun, I decided to test it out, along with the Porter Cable. It does heat up fast. . .but. . .hmmm. . .I really disliked the overly high-pitched whining/buzzing sound of the motor and fan (see video). The smaller the motor, the higher the pitch, that is a given, but the sound from this one bugs out my brain after awhile. On par with the rest of the heat gun. . .the sound of the motor gives the impression of lower quality. My old heat gun was quieter. The Porter Cable heat gun I ordered was a bit quieter as well, none of that buzzing/whining sound, which surprised me considering it also moves more air.And as for that "integrated stand for hands free operation," well. . .it could have been better--a lot better. Being that the back is not very wide and is where the temperature control is located and that the "stand" is nothing but a thin wire loop--the manufacturer posted a photo of the heat gun in this position on the very top of the product page--it is VERY tippy when used this way. Any little bump will knock it over, which surely defeats the purpose of "hands free operation." In contrast, the Porter stands up wonderfully and sturdily. And about nozzle attachments: they work. . .but like the rest of the gun, could be better. I may have a use for them someday, that is. . .if this heat gun lasts long enough.And one more thing I must add. . .this gun smoked, like a chimney. Yes, electronic devices with a heating coil within will often smoke after first being used because of burning off manufacturer's dust and oils. . .but this one was smoking even after 30 minutes of use (it did eventually stop puffing out smoke). Not so with the Porter. And as for the heat, it did not seem any hotter than the 1500W Porter, but maybe that is because the Porter has a stronger motor and thus moves more air.In all, this heat gun does heat up, and so does work. . .but I cannon help but be disappointed in it. Being that it cost as much as it did. . .I was expecting more (the Porter cost less). Because the overall quality seems lacking, I think this heat gun is better suited for lighter, indoor projects. . .and for people who don't have sensitive hearing. If you need a heat gun for tougher outside jobs. . .or your ears are sensitive to higher pitched sounds like mine are, you may want to skip this one.
