Because you know the difference between the brush and the can. With a good shaving brush, hot water and a quality shaving soap, you will have an experience that far in a way outshines anything you will ever get from a can. There is nothing like a warm lather that lubricates your skin and stimulates your olfactory senses to make shaving enjoyable and not just another part of your morning routine. Another consideration is that you don't want to be limited to the very few fragrances which are available on the shelf of your local pharmacy or grocery store.Enough said. So why Henri et Victoria? And then why Cognac and Cuban Cigars? Believe me, one deep breath and you will know. The fragrance is not heavy and over-scented as so many hand-made soaps are these days. It is a smooth blend of the richness of tobacco (not the burned kind) with a very light addition of the essence of cognac. Another reviewer pointed out that it doesn't have a dominant cognac aroma and they are very correct. Cognac can be overpowering as so many rum based products have proven and you don't want this the first thing in the morning when you are just preparing for the day. But it is there and the smooth addition to the tobacco makes this one incredible shaving experience. The lubrication provided by H et V is remarkable. I was using another hand-made product previously and the very noticeable difference is how easily my razor glides over my face and how protective the lather performed in the delicate areas.
