I spray my cook top with vinegar and then sprinkle baking soda on it and rub the products around so all of the baking soda gets wet with the vinegar. I let it sit for at least 15 minutes and then use the scraper. It works beautifully. **Q: How often should the blade be changed?** A: I am sure it depends on how much you use it. I only use it to take drips off of glass when I paint, so seldom. I have only changed mine once over YEARS of use. **Q: How wide is this scraper? Is there another one that is wide that is suitable for cooktops?** A: It is not well made. My cheaper scraper works better.
