My recipe is larger than the typical fruitcake. I balked (at first) over the cost of these tins but I received them today & they are so worth the small extra cost. My 1 1/2 pound loaf style fruitcakes will fit perfectly in this tin. The wonderful surprise is that these tins are much more beautiful in person. Not only are they beautiful but the lid fits tightly so that if you're mailing cookies or food items in this tin, they will ship safely. Tins can of course get dented but these came to me protected & in excellent condition. Another reason I love these tins is that I know the receipitents will treasure them & probably pass them down so perhaps they will eventually become antiques just as the images used on these tins suggest. Love, love, love everything about these tins & highly recommend them as they are worthy of whatever delicious food item you will fill them with.Please Note: Almost immediately after my review above was posted, the seller & the cost changed. I can recommend the seller I was lucky to have found: "Sillie Willie's Sales" for $15.95.
