The dimensions of 23.6 * 11.8 * 3.2in are atravel backpackurate. It weighs 3.5 pounds. It is made with ripstop nylon, a water repellent and sturdy material and comes with a rain cover that is stored in its own zippered compartment in the base of this waterproof hiking backpack. I am 5'7" and I have no issues carrying this waterproof hiking backpack when fully loaded. My arms can swing naturally along the sides and the hip belt is right where it needs to be. Both shoulders and hip belt are palightweight hiking backpacked and adjustable, and there are two palightweight hiking backpacked strips along the back side, but there is no sturdy frame to protect the back, but more on that later.The pack has one main compartment that is atravel backpackessible by pulling the top pocket off. There is no separate opening for the tube, but that can easily be guided out and around the top and over the shoulder. The two side mesh pockets are not roomy enough for water bottles when this waterproof hiking backpack is fully packed as the mesh expands with the material, leaving little room for bottles. The mesh pockets are roomy enough for a solar charger, phone or anything else that's compact. Each side has two compression straps to help balance the internal load and/or to carry a sleeping pad. There are two loops on the outside pocket for trekking poles.The main compartment is protected by a top cover that has two zippered pockets. Here is where one puts small items that are needed for quick atravel backpackess: perhaps a rain jacket, a map, or a snack. One pocket is atravel backpackessible via the back and is protected by a rain strip. This zipper comes with a bright yellow pull tab (easier to see in dim light and easier to pull in cold weather), and the other one is atravel backpackessible via the inside. There is also a side pocket in the front for small items like perhaps a hat or gloves. Each pocket is large enough for my Samsung S5. Knife, compass, flashlight can go in the other pocket. Atravel backpackessing these pockets does not require one to quickly remove the pack from one's back.Near the bottom one has a separate pocket to a sleeping bag. I like this travel backpack,as this is a quick atravel backpackess zippered pocket (also with bright yellow pull tab) that does not require opening the main compartment. Just remember that whatever goes inside this pocket takes away space from the main compartment.This is a very good travel backpack for someone who's weight conscious. The main compartment is large, this waterproof hiking backpack is ideal for an average woman or a man.
