I would seal the wood first however as any moisture that gets inbetween the cracks will make short work of the ply. **Q: Is this comfortable enough to walk on barefoot? Mind you i am barefoot very often.** A: Yes nice , one thing to keep in mind if you have a dog , the claws might dig in it **Q: Will this stick to non skid surfaces??** A: Not very well, they say to grind off the non skid, this product is not worthy of all that, that being said for the $ its a good value I think, I put it in my 30’ chaparral in the cabin, on all the interior decks and on the extended swim platform, I’m happy with it but FYI, it shrinks a little after you cut it and put it down, you can’t really use a knife to cut it cause it tears it a little I went to harbor freight and got some small commercial looking scissors and that worked great! So it stuck down ok to the interior non skid but the material extended on to the smooth gel coat so it works well, on the swim deck I had to use a stainless piece of 1/2 rub rail I had laying around to secure it by the transom, the outer edges fell again onto the smooth gel coat and is not a problem, Make paper templates and lay them onto the teak, then just cut them out and stick them down ! This is a good value product, don’t think that it going to be like sea deck because it’s NOT! Example, if you drop your anchor on it it will leave a mark/ hole, if you have aggressive dogs they will tear it up I would think over time I would use it again but I know it’s not a lifetime use product, it’s good, just not bullet proof Ya get what ya pay for! Very soft to walk on, and cleans easy. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good Cheap stuff as long as you install it wisely *by P***R on July 15, 2022* I had carpet in my 01 Four Winns Horizon 190 that was junk. I removed all of the snaps. I did have a non-skid surface that I sanded with some 80 grit. I didn't sand it completely smooth, but I took most of the "ridges" off of the non-skid material. Basically, the more smooth area, the better adhesion. I didn't want to trust this adhesive material only, so I used 3M's marine 5200 adhesive. This stuff isn't cheap but it's the best sealant on the market in my opinion. I used 3 regular caulking tubes and spread a thin layer entirely under the EVA mat. I would suggest having two people place the material down, because once it's down, there is no wiggle room or adjusting. I must say that I ordered 4 sheets of this stuff and I let it sit in my garage rolled up for several months until I got time to install it. There was one end of one of the sheets that appeared more "gray" than the other sheets. No big deal honestly, I knew I would have some waste so I just used the other end of the sheet. This stuff cut easily with a razor blade too. Just don't be a cheap person and think just because a razor blade is in your utility knife that it's razor sharp. Do like I did, and start with a new blade. Flip it around or change it as required. Those things are cheap any ways. I'll be sure to come back to this review and update it if this stuff starts to wear out. We keep our boat under a cover & out of the sun & it gets about 20-40 hrs a year of use. It is stored under the cover & in a pole barn during the winter. That being said, I'm expecting the edges to try to peel up a little, and if they do, I'll hit it with that 3M 5200.
