But in this case, these are genuinely great lights. They will blind you and work best at 10-20 feet above any work surface, but they are energy efficient, last forever, install with just an eyebolt and a 15 amp electrical outlet near the eyebolt, and are ... just perfect. I use them every time I'm equipping a garage, a workshop, a barn, you name it. Plan on one for every 200-250 square feet of floor and you'll have powerful lighting for working. If you just want some space decently lit (like your garage), one for every 500-700 feet does the job nicely. You can get different wattage and lumen levels (this is one of the more powerful ones) and get ones that are daylight, warm white, or are switchable at will. They are dimmable and can be controlled with smart controllers ("Clap on, clap off, Alexa!"_). No reason not to recommend them. This much light is positively holy.

**Q: I have a 30x48 pole barn with 12' ceilings . I want to use the white 12" ufo 100 w (5000k). How many would you reccomend**
A: Hi, thank you so much for your contact and interested in our led high bay light.
If you are doing some manual work in the building, such as repairs, it is recommended that you use 3x3 white 100W lamps with an average illumination of 66fc. If your building is used to store goods, it is recommended that you use 2x3 lights, and the average illumination is 45fc, which can meet the daily lighting needs.

**Q: What are the lumens at the lowest setting? Obviously not off**
A: You can dim this down to barely there.  Remember when measuring lumens, everything depends on the distance from the light source:  the further away is your point of measurement, the lower the reading.  I use the 100 and 150 watt units located about 14 feet from the floor.  They provide very comfortable working light.  I can dim them down quite a bit, but I don't because I don't find that useful.  I have several switches covering the entire building and I can limit the light in the desired area by turning off the other switches.

**Q: I am sorry if this is redundant but i want to light an area approx 25 by 25. i will be hanging at 17 ft. can i use one 200w or better with 2 smaller?**
A: That is completely up to you, how much light you want and what purpose you want the light serve.  If the space is storage and you don't care about shadows or the light level, one would be adequate.  If it's a working space I would consider 2 - 4 150w.

I have two different spaces; one is 16' x 32' x 17' ceiling w/ (3) 150w on 8' centers, and 16' x 36' x 13' ceilings w/(6) 100w on 10' centers.

Each bay has incredible light for working, but the high bay with just (3) lights in a row cast shadows, where as the two rows of (3) has much better working light.
