Best powder I’ve used. *by D***N on Reviewed in the United States on December 16, 2018* I think that this is the best powder I’ve used so far...and that’s saying a LOT, since I’ve tried just about every oil control powder there is, from Elf at the drugstore to Chanel. I’ve got the oiliest skin ever. This powder keeps me matte all day long. And I do mean ALL day. I put my makeup on at about 7am, and by 7pm, there’s only a little shine peeking through, nothing at all major. I love that it’s all natural, with ingredients that are actually good for the skin. I also like the light cocoa scent (if you’re sensitive to fragrance or don’t like the smell of cocoa, don’t worry. It’s mild and it disappears quickly. It’s a nice, finely milled powder, not heavy or chunky at all. It feels as lightweight as a feather. The tint of this powder is great on my skin tone, it doesn’t leave a white or ashy cast (for the record, I’m African American with a medium brown skin tone. I’m not sure if the tint of this powder would disappear against very fair skin). My skin is ridiculously, absurdly oily, so I like to pack on a ton of it, leave it that way for a few minutes, then use a brush to gently swipe away the excess. Then setting spray, then another light dusting of the powder. I’m left with a beautiful, velvety and perfectly matte finish afterwards. The powder does not get cakey.The packaging is great, I love the look of the bamboo jar, and it came with a very nice thick velour puff with a satin ribbon to hold it with (although I normally apply this powder with a dense brush, a dry Beauty Blender or my big Laura Mercier puff). I’ve seen complaints about this powder spilling in the box; mine did not. It came in a nice box, the jar was securely sealed all the way around the opening, with a sticker over the sifter that covered all of the holes. No mess at all when I opened the jar. One little trick that I’ve started doing with loose powders is leaving the sticker over the sifter holes, and using a needle or a toothpick to poke through the sticker on only SOME of the holes. That prevents too much powder from coming out. Try it, you’ll thank me, lol.I will definitely buy more of this powder. The price is great, and it works a heck of a lot better than powders I’ve tried that cost literally five times as much. I’m very pleased with it.Virginics, please, PLEASE also make a pressed version of this powder for touch ups on the go! I can imagine it in a nice bamboo compact (with a mirror, please...it annoys me when translucent pressed powders don’t have a mirror in the compact. A lot of them don’t.) I’ll definitely be a repeat customer, I love this powder. It is a little darker than my complexion, so I mix the whole container with a small container of Innisfree No-Sebum Mineral Powder and the shade is then perfect. I really love this product and so does my face.
