I have a 2004 Jeep Wrangler with a console mounted factory sub-woofer. The factory speaker went bad and I started looking for a replacement that did not cost close to $200 like the OEM one is. It is not hard to imagine that you can't get a true sub-woofer sound in a 6 ½ inch package, but what you do get is a faithful reproduction of the factory original, and you get this for around $25.00. This shipped from Parts Express where you also get top notch customer service. The only con and it is not the fault of the speaker but the application is you have to take a Dremel tool to the inside of the housing to get it to fit. This took about 30 minutes. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Decent but not exceptional *by B***E on November 5, 2013* I bought this to replace the factory sub in my 2001 Wrangler. Performance wise I would say it is pretty equal to the factory sub I replaced but not better. It would be expecting a lot, especially for the money, to expect much more from it though.The problem I ran into, no fault of the speaker itself, its fitting it into the factory sub box. Some here have suggested it is as easy as trimming some internal ribbing but in my case the internal amp was also hitting the magnet shield. I had to trim the corner of the amp housing to get it in. Not pretty. I am unsure why they even make shielded speakers any longer.
