I didn't want any hooks making dents or holes in my clothes. I hung all 4 next to my bed - and they were great to hang my purse, id badge, swimsuit cover up, etc., etc. Glad I got them and they're now put away for the next cruise! I guess that’s a good thing because you know the magnet won’t scratch the paint on a fridge or wall. The coat rack is at the other side off the room. I use this to hang a 2x fleece jacket and beanie. The claim to 44lbs makes me feel strong. To be fair, it’s a little stronger on a steel I beam. If you’re using this on a smooth shiny appliance you may want to reconsider for anything heavier than a big fleece zip up. These are exactly what I needed.
