If you are using 10 AWG the amperage of this device may also be too high. This works for 15amp circuit. Maybe a GFCI (0utdoor) mounted in a watertight box and an outdoor in-use water tight cover would work better. **Q: will this work as an inline on/off switch for my prressure washer? the pressure washer switch failed and is obsolete [Karcher]?.** A: You could but I’d think it would be better to get another inline switch and wire this GFCI between the plug and the switch. This way you’d have a real switch and be protected with a GFCI. **Q: Will this work as an outdoor inline switch for low voltage lighting (with no gfci)?** A: It works as a GFCI.
