It's difficult for me to hold a hardback book open, as I don't have a lot of strength in my hands. I thought this would help with that, as well as helping me visually track each line. The picture doesn't show a clear option, but that's what I received. Any of the brighter colors would have worked better for me, in terms of something visual to follow. I suppose for some people, the clear might be preferable because it might not be distracting for them. It does hold the book open, which is very helpful. It's a little awkward to use, but I'm sure as I use it more I'll get more used to it. Most of the time I read on a Kindle as it's much easier for me to hold and to control the size, space between lines, etc., but for reading an actual book, I think this will be helpful to most people who are trying to keep the book open. I think many people would give this a higher rating, because it will probably suit their purpose better.
