Michael says I have to change the 2 interior filters. They both cost about $150. Their website says they last between 11-17 months. It was sent with an extra 3 stage filtration unit that I installed on the wall. It also came with filters installed in the unit and a second set for the first change. These additions weren't expected because they weren't even mentioned in to sales listing on Amazon. This is a great thing and I was glad to see. This whole process from unboxing, to installing to reading up on what to do first took a couple hours. Make sure to take your time and read the material first. This is not for people who aren't invested in the process but only for those who want to take some time to understand the unit they have just purchased. I read the manual and literature twice, watched the videos and installed the filter unit and then the 2195. They really have tried very hard with this kit to make a multi-step process as simple and easy as possible. I think when you read reviews of people with bad results they probably didn't follow the instructions. In the questions and answers section, I noticed a significant number of grammatical errors and somewhat juvenile behavior and responses. This is a $1700 water ionization machine to promote health. It is the gold standard for high end homes and intelligent lifestyles so it was very shocking to read some of the very sophomoric reviews, questions and answers. This is not something trivial. I can tell you that almost twelve hours after receiving the 2195, installing it, and already having encountered the benefits, I am so glad I purchased this unit.
