Review: Perfect for a Char-Broil Double Burner, Pics, Tips, & Video - I consider this to be a good purchase. Price is ok, although I could get a 110V for around $10 less . However the good thing about this one is that the bar came cut at the correct length 24" inches for a Char-Broil double burner gas grill. You may save the extra $10 and buy a standard length kit 34" inches with a 110V motor. However, you may need to consider to cut the bar and sharpen the end of it to make it easier to handle, and lighter in weight while you carry it. The reason why I decided to buy this one, was because I already have a spare 110V motor. So I decided to have the option of also having a battery operated motor which comes with this kit. By the way, this motor has an optional input so you can plug it to an optional power supply 3 VDC. ( I am using it with a 4.5 VDC it seems to work ok) The setup was easy nothing complicated, you can install the brackets for either having the motor on the left or the right side of the grill, I chose to have it on the right side, so in case that I use the 110V spare motor ( the power outlets will be on the right side, where I usually cook). For the installation you only need a screwdriver, the nuts have a self-locking washer, so there is no need for a wrench or pliers to hold de nuts. Instructions are simple and clear. I took many pictures, so if you also have the Char-Broil double burner, you can quickly figure out the holes that you will be using on the grill and on the brackets to attach the screws). To use the rotisserie one will need to remove the top rack in the Charbroil. However, as you see in the pictures the cooking crates still in place, for the Charbroil burner in the picture, there is no need to make any modifications. The only thing that I did not like, as that I need it to leave the handle in place to hold the counterweight, is something that I do not recommend, the handle will start to get brittle with the heat. Do not leave the handle in the bar while cooking. For using the counterweight, I got an additional nut if I decided to use it. Although for the chicken that you see in the rotisserie, there was no need for me to use the counterweight. The battery operated motor works nicely, I was surprised at its performance; so much that I have no intention of using the 110V spare that I have. Some tips for those who are new at cooking with a rotisserie. If this is your first time, then do not preheat the grill before placing the rotisserie and the chicken on the grill. Placing an uncooked chicken in the rotisserie while the grill is off and cold is not a problem; getting it out when hot requires to be prepared and to pay attention. Removing the chicken from the rotisserie bar and forks while on the grill will be much easier than trying to do it on the kitchen; you will avoid a mess or getting burned in the process. Also, you will have more control over what you are doing instead of doing so on a slippery surface such as a kitchen counter. Follow these instructions. You will need an internal meat thermometer to check the temperature of the chicken 180 F, do not overcook it you will end with the same dry and tasteless chicken that you can buy in the supermarket deli. You will need a pair of gloves, a long nose plier needle 8"-10" to lose the rotisserie fork screws, and a long steel fork to hold steady the chicken in the bar/rotisserie forks. Turn off the grill, turn off the motor. Get the gloves on. With the long nose plier, lose the screw that holds one of the rotisserie forks, slide the long cooking fork inside the steel bar and between the chicken and the rotisserie fork. With the long nose plier, slide the rotisserie fork outwards. Do the same step on the opposite side ( never lose both rotisserie fork screws at the same time. Otherwise the whole thing is going to slide from one side to the other over the bar). With both rotisserie forks lose from the chicken, lift the bar by the handle and slide out the cooking fork with the pliers, get a tray and slide out the chicken on top of the tray. Leave the rotisserie bar on the grill to cool off, that thing gives nasty burns. Is it worth it to cook your own chicken on the grill that buying it at the supermarket’s deli? Yes, it is worth it, I am tired of buying an overcooked, tasteless chicken. Also, I do cook other meats in the rotisserie such as beef or pork. Hope you like the review, any questions let me know.

The additional volume is also helpful in determining if your batteries have been expended mid-cook as you will likely have no means of seeing the spit rod turn with a closed lid.
