I have my switch mounted to the pickguard of a fender mustang. If your replacing a switch in a les Paul style guitar you may need the long frame version. Because this is a very high quality switch you can expect it to work reasonably well as a kill switch. This is commonly used as a kill switch technique. A dedicated push button kill switch of high quality might be capable of faster stucatto and it might be quieter. Static in the kill switch can cause a problem by making loud crackling sounds. Static in the switch can spoil the effect of using the 3 way switch as a kill switch. You want a quiet acting kill switch. Not a sloppy connection with static.Switchcraft might make a high quality dedicated kill switch.
