I found that they accommodated standard size cupcakes best. The dome is not high enough for a thick topping of frosting or decorations that stick up very high but it has ample height for a moderate thickness of frosting with sprinkles. The plastic is of a medium grade so the boxes are sturdy enough to hold the cupcakes without folding or collapsing. It seals well and has tabs on the corner for easy opening.
