Review: Excellent Cost Efficient Rod - With proper preheat, maintaining heat during the weld process, peening the weld after every pass, and a controlled cool down period with the part wrapped in welding blankets, the Blue Demon ErNi55 performed exceptionally well in this Rockwell double reduction axel repair. We welded in a machined mild steel replacement for the broken power steering lug with no cracking issues. The Blue Demon products have been terrific materials that help our job shop maintain a high level of quality and cost efficiency for our customers.

**Q: So this is a TIG rod but produces slag??**
A: It is a solid rod used for GTAW TIG welding but does NOT produce slag.  That is an error in the description and I will have removed.  apologies.

**Q: How many 1/16 rods are in a 1lb**
A: approx 28-32 rods

**Q: What ia the best choice for tig filler metal for cast iron repair welding that needs to be machined?**
A: In my opinion, either ERNI99 filler or BD-5000T filler

**Q: Is 100% Argon the best gas choice for this rod?**
A: It's the gas I use, very clean weld.

Very good rods at a very low price. Melting rate is consistent.No fracturing while cooling and it makes a nice clean looking weld.
