This saw has cut through anything I've thrown at it. Amazing saw. However, it is not a precision tool. This is mostly designed to eat metal and make quick cuts through anything. This saw has a lower RPM than a miter saw....which is what you probably need. You likely want a miter saw with a crosscut blade designed for hardwood with a higher TPI. The max speed of the metal cutting blade is directly proportional to the diameter of the blade. I have a 14 " blade my rpm cant exceed 1800 rpm . I also have and 8 inch metal cutting blade max around 5000 rpm.
