It not only comes with a base stand and desk clamp, but it fits in both with exactly the right snugness to hold it steady but be easy to use. The base is also heavily weighted, so I don't have any trouble with it moving the base when I try to move the lamp head.The light is bright and clear as advertised, which is very important for my painting. One of the important things I was needing was a bright light and also a decent magnification lens. I really like how clear the magnification is, and also how bright the light is. The lamp cam be moved up and down or left and right with either mounts. Setting up the light was really easy, since you only need to slide the pole into the mount and tighten the screw. If the light is too bright, just press and hold the power button down and the light will automatically dim.
