It took 10 min or so. After closing all the valves and turning the pump off, I used a 5/8 inch drill bit to make a hole and used the supplied clamps to clamp it it place. A couple of considerations: The instructions specify how much straight pipe is needed before and after (in the top right corner of page. For my 2 inch ID pipe, it was 10 inches before and 4 in after. The pickup holes for the pitot tube are small, so it should be installed after the filter. Orientation and leveling/plumb is important. If you follow the instructions you won’t have any trouble.
