It is solid and works flawlessly however I suppose if you had a crowbar you could get past it - not worried about that. I plan to get a couple of more in fact. Curious how long the batteries will last - one place says 200 times and another says 50, so while I'm not planning to keep count, I am hopeful it's a once a year event for the batteries. The only think I wish wash different as the ability to mount it differently, or multiple mounting holes/brackets. I mounted it inside of a ottoman, and given the design of the ottoman, this lock was incredibly difficult to mount. After that, it worked pretty well. I could have mounted it more easily, however the reader for the cards could not pick up the card through the side wall.
