For large cuts, I used a small jigsaw saw and for the small cuts, I actually used a ginsu knife. They are easy to clean, too. I've cleaned them using a broom, a mop and even dumped a small bucket of water over them. They clean easy and quickly, and drain the water with no problems. You can get them cheaper at some members-only warehouses (I did) but I ran short and couldn't get them at the warehouse so I got what I needed through desertcart. I LOVE LOVE LOVE these tiles! As noted elsewhere these were available in packs of 10 at the Costco but in a number of different varieties. The price at Costco was also $1.50 per piece or $2 per piece. Unfortunately I cannot find these at Costco and so I ordered the product via Amazon til complete a section of the floor. I ordered one of the packs of 6 via Amazon and attached a picture of the product received. I covered a 10 x 15 area with the tiles and pull up the tiles every six months or so to clean the floor and to clean the tiles. The connector tabs did break on a few so better to have a few spare tiles. At $5 per piece via Amazon the product is not a least cost option for anything but a small area.
